Julia Anne visits the Outer Hebrides regularly and she loves the stunning and unique landscapes, in particular the beaches of the Western Isles.

In this piece Julia Anne has used blues and a striking turquoise to capture the stunning beach at Balnivanich on the Western Isles, the array of blues reflect the moody skies so very often seen on the Western Isles.

Look closely to see the how Julia Anne has used rock salt to create the waves crashing onto the shore.

This watercolour has been painted in a freehand semi-abstract style making it truly unique.

Painted with Winsor & Newton professional watercolours on Saunders Waterford 640gsm cold-pressed cotton paper. Mounted with a cream mount.
