Some Information about our Materials
Strength in Sustainability: British Stainless Steel:
Amidst a sea of pen kits, we champion local craftsmanship by selecting a pen kit crafted from British 303 Stainless Steel, proudly manufactured right here in the UK. Boasting an enduring all-metal click mechanism, our chosen kit ensures lasting durability, embodying our commitment to quality and community. We’re thrilled to incorporate these locally sourced kits as the foundation of our pens, celebrating the essence of British craftsmanship in every stroke.
A Bit about Elm:
Scotland has various types of elm trees, but many have been affected by Dutch Elm disease. The Wych elm is especially beautiful and long-lived. Recently, an 800-year-old elm tree located in Beauly collapsed. Elm is still highly valued for its appearance, and we use locally sourced elm for woodturning to reduce our carbon footprint. We use Odie’s oil as our finishing oil. To find out more about the qualities of this amazing oil click here.
