Our Story

Made in the Glen was born around a kitchen table in Glen Urquhart, a quiet glen near Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. What began as a creative outlet between three sisters —Julia, Christine and Elizabeth—soon became a full-fledged business as friends and family began to request bespoke, thoughtful gifts.

Today, we bring the spirit of Highland life to homes across the UK and beyond through handmade art, gifts, and homewares. Each product is thoughtfully designed and crafted with attention to detail, rooted in the calm beauty of our surroundings and a deep respect for nature.

Julia Anne is the artistic heart of our creations. Her expressive watercolours capture the striking landscapes of Scotland. From original prints to greeting cards and hand-turned wooden bowls and soap dishes, her work brings the Highlands into your home.

Christine blends creativity with purpose. She makes our range of natural soaps, face cloths and lambswool scarves, and is also the founder of Ola Ròs, our natural skincare line. With a background in marketing and a lifelong passion for natural beauty, Christine ensures every ingredient is selected for quality, sustainability and effiicacy.

Elizabeth brings a sharp eye for design to our home fragrance and textile collections. She creates candles, wax melts and essential oil diffuser blends, and works closely with the team on branding, packaging and photography. Her studio is also where our visitors can see and shop our collections.
