Our Scottish Linen Cook’s Apron made from linen woven in Scotland was created by Christine and Liz and crafted by our team here in the Highlands. We take great pride in our meticulous approach, even using organic cotton for stitching, a detail that often goes unnoticed by other makers but is crucial to us.

A Quick Guide to Our Eco-friendly Materials.

flax as linen
Linen as a Textile

The stems of the flax plant are soaked in water to extract the fibres. The fibres are loosened, separated from the woody stems and other impurities and finally spun into yarn. The yarn is often woven into fabric to become bedding, furniture coverings or clothing. Or it is knitted and made into garments and other items.

Organic Cotton

At our core, we prioritise sustainability and environmental responsibility. That’s why we always opt for organic cotton whenever possible. In the case of our cook’s apron, we use organic cotton webbing for the adjustable straps. Not only is organic cotton better for the environment, but it also boasts exceptional quality. With it’s durability and eco-friendly attributes, our choice of organic cotton webbing ensures both style and sustainability. But not forgetting the tiny details, we have also stitched our apron with organic cotton sewing thread. It’s all in the detail!

UK-Made Brass Eyelets

We have chosen UK-made brass eyelets for our linen apron, ensuring both durability and supporting local craftsmanship.  Furthermore, choices like these contribute to minimizing our global environmental footprint.

Caring for your Cook’s Apron:

  • Wash at 30 on a gentle machine cycle.
  • Line dry.
  • Iron, only if you must. It’s better for the environment to accept a few wrinkles here and there.
