Behind the Scenes : The Making of an Artisan Bowl.
Each one-of-a-kind piece is carefully crafted to be both beautiful and functional. It begins with the selection of a round piece of wood, known as a ‘blank’. Once secured to the lathe, skilled hands guide the gouge as the wood turns, gradually shaping it into a bowl or platter. As the form emerges, the distinctive grain and natural beauty of the wood are revealed, enhancing its tactile and decorative charm. Once the final shape is perfected, the piece is meticulously sanded, polished, and finished to the highest standard.
Oak for Tableware:
Our artisan tableware collection features pieces crafted from the excellent material of oak. This wood is known for its durability, robustness, and beauty, making it capable of withstanding the test of time. Moreover, oak’s non-porous properties make it the perfect choice for serving food, providing a hygienic and safe surface for culinary creations.
Caring for your Natural Oak Bowl:
To preserve the timeless elegance of your oak bowl we recommend the following:
- Gently hand wash using a soft brush or cloth
- Avoid submerging your serving board in water.
- After washing, stand it in an upright position to air-dry completely
- Occasionally, apply a touch of food-safe finishing oil (such as walnut) to maintain its shine and natural beauty.
