Our Scottish Linen Tea Towel Collection
Our Scottish Linen Tea Towel collection is made from linen woven in Scotland and lovingly stitched by Carol in the Highlands. We take great pride in our meticulous approach, even using organic cotton for stitching, a detail that often goes unnoticed by other makers but is crucial to us.
A Quick Guide to Our Eco-friendly Materials
Linen as a Textile
Flax stems are soaked in water to release the fibers, which are loosened, separated from the woody stems and impurities, and spun into yarn. This yarn transforms into the fabric for bedding, furniture coverings, or clothing, or is knitted into garments and other items.
Organic Cotton
At our core, we prioritise sustainability and environmental responsibility. That’s why we always opt for organic cotton whenever possible. In the case of our cook’s apron, we use organic cotton webbing for the adjustable straps. Not only is organic cotton better for the environment, but it also boasts exceptional quality. With it’s durability and eco-friendly attributes, our choice of organic cotton webbing ensures both style and sustainability. But not forgetting the tiny details, we have also stitched our apron with organic cotton sewing thread. It’s all in the detail!
Caring for your Linen Tea Towels
- Wash at 40 degrees.
- Line dry.
- Iron, only if you must. It’s better for the environment to accept a few wrinkles here and there.
