Made from durable Scottish linen in a classic railroad stripe and filled with100% British Wool, it offers gentle structure and lasting comfort.  A genuine leather handle allows the cushion to be moved effortlessly from patio to living room, dining bench to fireside.

Generously sized at 40 x 40 x 12cm, it provides support while retaining a relaxed, informal feel.

Handmade in small batches in Scotland, this cushion is offered as a limited edition, with only four available.

Our Al Fresco Linen Carry Cushions are made with care and attention to every detail, right from selecting the fabric and design, through to the neat stitching. Liz, our designer, envisions the perfect blend of colours, fabrics, designs and leather handles. Carol subsequently brings the vision to life with her skilled sewing.

A Guide to the Materials in our Cushions:

Scottish Linen

Linen is a naturally renewable resource derived from flax, which requires minimal water and pesticides during cultivation. It’s production leaves a smaller ecological footprint compared to other textiles. Linen is biodegradable, ensuring a more circular and planet-friendly lifestyle. By opting for linen, you can contribute to a greener future. This particular linen was woven at a mill in Fife, Scotland.

Organic Cotton

At every step during our stitching process, we use organic cotton thread. We believe in its superiority for the environment when compared to non-organic alternatives. It is our ethos to pay attention to even the smallest details, ensuring that every aspect of our production remains as ethical as possible, aligning with our dedication to sustainability and responsible practices.

Leather Handles

We make a conscious effort to utilise the off-cuts from other leather industries to minimise waste and maximise the benefits of the entire hide. Our sources of off-cuts include a local upholsterer and high-quality leather makers who are happy to provide us with their surplus materials. Our favourite source for leather is a close friend who dedicated his career to creating bespoke footwear. Although he is now retired, he generously provided us with a magnificent collection of top-notch leather. The handles to our carry cushions are made from gorgeous navy leather.

Our cushions make the ethical choice easy for you, as they feature British Wool sourced from ewes raised and shepherded in Kent by Kristina & Paul Boulden, who lovingly care for a flock of Romney and Merino ewes at Romney Marsh Wools. These sustainably made cushions really do radiate warmth, comfort and conscientiousness.
